About the Course
Admissions Open — Batch 9
The Becoming a Therapist is a 9-month intensive training and supervised practice program designed by Reroute for aspiring therapists, psychology students at the Master’s level, and early-career mental health professionals.
This program is created to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and actual therapeutic practice.
While academic training provides important conceptual foundations, many learners often struggle with an important question:
“I understand therapy theoretically, but how do I actually sit with a client?”
CCIP addresses this gap by offering an immersive, practice-oriented learning experience that focuses not only on therapeutic skills, but also on developing clinical understanding, ethical sensitivity, emotional awareness, and reflective capacity.
At Reroute, we believe therapy is not merely about applying techniques. It is a deeply relational process that requires presence, attunement, self-awareness, and the ability to hold complexity.
This program helps participants move beyond learning about therapy to learning how to embody therapeutic practice.

This is where participants begin understanding therapy beyond frameworks and techniques.
It is where they learn to sit with uncertainty, complexity, resistance, emotional intensity, and relational dynamics.
Supervision at Reroute
Supervision at Reroute is relational, flexible, and deeply process-oriented.
Rather than focusing only on techniques or interventions, supervision encourages therapists to look deeper into the emotional, relational, systemic, and existential layers of therapeutic work.
We explore questions such as:
-
What happened in the session?
-
What did you feel as a therapist?
-
What remained unspoken?
-
What relational patterns emerged?
-
What may be unfolding beneath the surface?
As one trainee shared:
“It’s not about getting therapy right. It’s about becoming more real, more reflective, and more human in the room.”

FAQs
Q: Can I apply if I have just finished my Master’s degree and have no clinical experience?
Yes. The program is structured to meet you where you are. You don’t need prior client experience, the training, mock sessions, and supervision are designed to help you build those foundations safely and gradually.
Q: What does “integrative” mean in this context?“Integrative” refers to the way we draw upon multiple therapeutic approaches, including Psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, Narrative, and Existential frameworks, within a process-focused and relational lens. Instead of following a single school of thought, we help you understand when and how to draw from each, based on the client, the process, and your own therapeutic presence.
Q: Is this a fully online or hybrid program?
The course is conducted online, with live, interactive sessions. However, the process is highly experiential, involving mock sessions, demonstrations, group reflections, and supervision, so active participation is key.
Q: How is the evaluation done?
At the end of Phase 1, trainees undergo a demonstrative, skill-based evaluation. This helps assess not just conceptual understanding but also presence, empathy, and reflective capacity. Only those who clear this evaluation progress to client work in Phase 2.
Q: Will I receive a Letter of Recommendation (LOR)?
Yes, Letters of Recommendation can be provided on request. They are based on your commitment, participation, and performance throughout the course.
Q: How do I apply?
Simply fill out the Application Form linked below. Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email within a week.
If shortlisted, you’ll be invited for a 20-minute meeting with Ms. Kanchan, not an interview, but a reflective conversation to explore alignment with the program.
